A personalised approach to Western classical music theory, tailored to each student's musical goals. Whether preparing for Trinity examinations, developing aural skills or learning to understand

Develop the ability to hear, understand and identify the building blocks of music. Starting with simple melodies and gradually moving towards commercial music, lessons train students to recognise intervals, melodies, chords and progressions by ear.

• Build the basic theory knowledge needed for aural training, including scales, chords and chord families
• Recognise and identify musical intervals by ear
• Listen to simple melodies and work out their notes
• Progress from simple tunes and rhymes to commercial music

SONG LEARNING

Learn to play the songs you love while developing the musical foundations to play them with confidence. Beginners build essential instrument technique and music theory alongside their song learning, while more experienced students can build a personalised repertoire based on their musical interests, level and goals.

Develop the skills needed to present your music confidently and professionally, whether performing on stage, sharing music with friends and family, playing at a gathering or creating musical content for social media. Lessons focus on interpretation, musical communication and presentation, helping students transform the skills they've developed on their instrument into engaging performances.
Students gradually learn to:
• Interpret music beyond simply playing the correct notes
• Develop musical expression and communicate the character and emotion of a piece
• Apply performance techniques appropriate to their instrument and musical style
• Develop posture, stage presence, facial expression, eye contact and appropriate movement
• Prepare and rehearse music effectively for a confident performance
• Develop microphone and basic performance setup techniques
• Present themselves effectively when performing for an audience, friends, family or social gatherings
• Create and refine musical cover content for social media, including camera positioning and recording techniques

TRINITY EXAMS
